Who knew work could be so fattening?
One of our Career Services Specialists, Jen, picks the BEST restaurants whenever she’s responsible for planning a training. Which, of course, I don’t mind on the surface. It does tend to frustrate me to feel those pounds adding on while I’m at a conference and unable to do much about it.
I came to this training week with the best of intentions. I brought my workout clothes and really planned to take advantage of the gym. Somehow it’s already Thursday…well, Friday in Chicago…and I haven’t worked out once. I’ve only walked about – hmmmm – 1000 steps per day? Nothing worth really classifying as exercise.
To my credit, though, it’s not as if I’m being lazy. I’ve worked 41.75 hours starting on Tuesday. TUESDAY!!! So the last three days (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) I’ve worked 1.75 hours more than I normally do in a whole week. I will definitely get time off, and overtime, but what I really want is sleep. Sleep…even the word itself sounds heavenly. I can’t wait to go home, see my husband and rats, and just veg.
So yeah, anyway…I haven’t been the model eater for the past few days but, given the circumstances, I think I’ll let it slide.
