I feel like I’m getting a cold or allergies for the first time in a while. I think the last time I was sick was when Ryan and I honeymooned in Seattle in September. (Granted, this may not be that long between colds/allergies for many of you but it’s pretty damn good for me!) The change in the weather no doubt had a hand in this. It certainly isn’t what I’d call “cold” in southern California, but it is a bit “brisk” or “crisp”. And since Ryan and I have been doing a lot of exercising, that means I’m taking a lot of big, deep breaths full of “brisk” air.
I’m happy to get this out of the way before we leave on our cross-country excursion from here to Michigan and back, but this is a terrible week to get sick. Wednesday is the “Design Portfolio Review” that we host for our graduates, Thursday we have a meeting with the Academic Affairs team, and Friday is Commencement. Friday is also, apparently, Ryan’s company’s holiday party – on a boat in the harbor. Pretty, for sure, but more cold air.
I’ve already taken some Airborne, which will hopefully lesson the effects of the cold/allergies/whatever. I also had some orange juice. The most important ingredient to bring to the table, in my opinion, is positivity. I will be healthy, dammit!
